Ram 1500 recalled in Australia

Ram Trucks Australia has recalled 1262 examples of the Ram 1500 DT over an issue with the rear seatbelt buckle anchors.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the second-row centre and left-side seat belt buckle anchors may not meet specifications. As a result, the seatbelts may not operate as intended,” the recall notice reads.

“In the event of an accident, a seat belt not operating as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing and advised to contact an authorised Ram dealer to have the fault rectified free of charge.

The Australian campaign follows a broader recall affecting around 1.44 million Ram 1500s in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

While the overseas recall covers vehicles produced between 2019 and 2026, the Australian campaign is limited to examples produced in 2026.

The official local recall total is higher than Ram Trucks Australia’s initial estimate of approximately 800 MY25 and MY26 vehicles built since June 2025.

It follows a recall of 73 examples of the larger Ram 2500 earlier this month to rectify an issue affecting the vehicle’s electronic stability control system.

The Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 were also included in a December 2025 recall over an instrument panel fault that could prevent safety warnings from illuminating when required.

Concerned owners can contact an authorised Ram dealer or the Ram Trucks Australia customer centre on 1300 681 655.
