Gold Logie winner Sam Pang talks after the ceremony and reveals his plans for the top trophy

Gold Logie winner and comedian Sam Pang has revealed what he plans to do with his new trophy.

On Sunday night, Pang beat out a competitive field to take home the top award at the 66th TV Week Logie Awards.

The Front Bar on Seven was also nominated for Best Comedy Entertainment Program. The sports talk show is co-hosted by Pang and comedian Mick Molloy and sports journalist Andy Maher.

Pang said he planned to walk into all future job contract negotiations armed with his shiny new Logie.

“I’m out of contract, so I will be having it with me as I walk into contract negotiations,” Pang told The Morning Show on Monday.

“I’ll put it right in front of Mick Molloy and say, mate, give me an offer, and we’ll just take it from there.”

Last year, Home And Away star Lynne McGranger took home the coveted Gold Logie and revealed she planned to keep her award in her handbag for 12 months.

She also won the Silver Logie for Best Lead Actress in a Drama, celebrating her historic run as Irene Roberts.

Iconic comedy legend Magda Szubanski reprised her role as Sharon Strzelecki to present the Gold Logie on Sunday night.

Pang revealed he was surprised when Szubanski appeared to present the award, describing it as a “very special moment” with “Australian comedy royalty” — particularly after Kath and Kim was announced as the number one Aussie TV show.

Pang, who has hosted the Logies three times, struck the right balance between humour and sincerity in his acceptance speech.

“I wanted to say it is a big honour. I’ve obviously been involved in the show (before). Being here the last three years, I know what we all need. I’m going to keep this very, very short,” Pang joked on stage.

The repeat Logies host also made sure to take a jab at 22-year-old Robert Irwin and his hosting debut.

Pang warned he was going to forget some people before listing the key people he wanted to thank.
