Man charged with attempted murder after alleged Aspley shooting and Narangba siege

An overnight siege has ended with a man surrendering to police before being charged with attempted murder.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on Richards Rd in Narangba, north of Brisbane , about 2.30pm on Friday when the multi-hour siege began.

Police used speakers to negotiate with a man inside the home while also warning locals to stay clear of the scene.

The 33-year-old man surrendered to police later that night, before officers were seen scouring the home.

Police had executed the search warrant at the home after a man was shot about 20km south of the Narangba scene on Centre St in Aspley , about 10.50pm on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old man was found with two gunshot wounds and rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

After surrendering to police, the older man was charged with eight alleged offences, including single counts of attempted murder, possessing restricted items and obstructing police.

He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.
