Man arrested after boy, 10, and woman injured in alleged stabbing in Melbourne CBD
A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old boy and a woman near Victoria Police headquarters in Melbourne’s CBD.
The boy, from Bass Coast, was punched in the upper body on Spencer St, near the corner of La Trobe St about 1pm on Tuesday.
A 30-year-old Cowes woman who was with the boy intervened and was allegedly stabbed in the upper body.
A 27-year-old Sunshine West man was arrested nearby and a pair of scissors was seized, police said.
He will be interviewed by police, who believe the parties were not known to each other.
Police are expected to provide further information at a press conference later on Tuesday.
