Port Adelaide midfielder Jackson Mead delisted after 74 games along with Will Lorenz and Jacob Moss

Port Adelaide have delisted three players as their post-season autopsy begins.

Jackson Mead has not been offered a contract after 74 AFL games with the club since being drafted as a father-son selection with pick 25 in the 2019 draft.

Midfielder Will Lorenz and untried basketball convert Jacob Moss have also been delisted.

Lorenz, 21, is hoping to land on another list after 11 games across three seasons.

Defender Lachie Jones has had his exit interview and remains without a contract, but is very keen to stay and confident a new deal will be struck in the coming weeks.

The Power finished 15th under first-year coach Josh Carr but had maintained a strong defensive profile until trailing off badly in the final five weeks of the season.

They suffered defeats of 59, 97 and 76 points in games against Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and only just got over the line against wooden spooners Essendon in the final round of the season.

Speaking to reporters as he left Alberton on Tuesday, Mead said he knew it was coming and there were no hard feelings.

“Yeah, delisted. It’s probably something, honestly, I’ve been aware of for the last couple of weeks,” he said.

“’Carry’ and I have had some discussions over the year, so I was in there for 10 seconds. All good.”

“I mean that (would) obviously (be) ideal. Obviously a lot to play out over the next couple of weeks to few months, so bit of a waiting game, but I’m still in love with footy and would love to go elsewhere,” he said.

“It’s probably hard to plan for; I don’t really have any control over what teams want me or anything like that.

“Carry and that have been honest all the way through, so (I’m) grateful for that as well.”

Mead added he was grateful to be drafted by the club that his father Darren played 122 AFL and 116 SANFL games for.
