Beloved radio host Amanda Keller shares heartbreaking news about pet dog

Beloved radio star Amanda Keller has used her radio program to announce the death of cherished family dog Mini.

Holding back tears, she shared the sad personal news during her show on Tuesday, revealing the pet had died the day before.

Discussing the news with co-host Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones, Keller described the heartbreaking moment she knew it was time to say goodbye.

“Yesterday was such a long hard day. Early in the morning, I realised that was going to have to be the day,” she said.

“I actually thought I was going to take her to the vet for a final check-up, to see if there was anything that could be done, but I realised the stress of getting her into the car ... we’re at the end here.”

She said members of her family all came to her home to give farewell fusses before the vets came.

“We were all sitting in the courtyard and Mini got up ... we were all patting her on the head and telling her how much we loved her,” she said.

The presenter described the family’s emotional final moments with the dog, as the vets came to put her down, with Mini’s head resting in her hands.

She later posted about the loss on Instagram, with a montage of photographs set against The Sun Will Never Settle by Kingfisher.

“We lost our beautiful Mini yesterday. She crossed the rainbow bridge with her family telling her she was loved and that she would forever be missed,” she wrote.

“So grateful for the last 14 years we spent together. Hard to picture life without her.”
