One pedestrian dead, another critical after separate collisions in Gatineau
One pedestrian is dead and another was in critical condition on Monday, Sept. 14, following separate weekend collisions in Gatineau.
Just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, Gatineau police officers responded to a call about a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Gréber Boulevard, between Chemin de la Savane and Louis-Riel Street.
A 75-year-old woman was taken by Gatineau paramedics to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. In a news release Monday, police said paramedics had also treated the driver of the vehicle for shock.
On Saturday just after 9 a.m., officers had attended the scene of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Boulevard de l’Hôpital. Police said a 64-year-old Gatineau woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remained in critical condition on Monday.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for “entering the public highway without ensuring that there was no danger,” the release stated.
