Canadian Ruck wins silver in women’s 100m butterfly; McIntosh 'mad' at missing 400m freestyle final

Canadian Taylor Ruck is having quite the week at the Pan Pacific championships.

The 26-year-old from Kelowna, B.C., won a silver medal in the women ’s 100-metre butterfly event on Friday night in Irvine Calif.

Ruck touched the wall in a personal-best time of 56.71 seconds, finishing behind American Gretchen Walsh, who won in a time of 55.15.

Australian Alexandria Perkins finished with the bronze medal after racing in 56.75.

On Wednesday, Ruck kicked off the Canadian medal count with a third-place finish in the women's 50m butterfly final. She then returned to the pool that night to win bronze as part of the Canadian women’s 4x100m medley relay team.
