Documentary 'The Heritage Guardian' premieres in Azerbaijan

A launch event for the Azerbaijani version of the documentary "The Heritage Guardian" was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on Friday.

The program, the first of its kind produced and dubbed by China Media Group (CMG) in Azerbaijani, features vivid stories that reflect Chinese President Xi Jinping's deep concern for the inheritance and development of culture.

It also explains to international audiences the essence of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and the solid cultural foundation underpinning his philosophy of governance.

Following the launch ceremony, the documentary was aired on the culture channel of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC), Azerbaijan's national television broadcaster, and ARB 24, a privately owned national news-oriented television channel.

Lu Mei, China's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Wang Lu, director of the CMG TV & Film Dubbing Center, Gunay Efendiyeva, deputy chairperson of the Culture Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tural Babaev, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC, and Radik Ismailov, executive director of ARB 24, attended the event.

Several Azerbaijani scholars, media professionals and representatives of cultural and educational institutions shared their thoughts on the documentary, saying Xi's efforts to preserve humanity's cultural memory were deeply admirable and carried far-reaching significance for sustainable development.

They also praised the documentary for offering a vivid and relatable portrayal of Xi through historical footage.

During the event, the CMG TV & Film Dubbing Center also introduced a number of high-quality programs, including "China Flash Forward," the opening episode of "Crafted in China" and "Song of the Yellow River."
