The Aurobindo Pharma Foundation has laid a new Cement-Concrete (CC) road in Mentada village of Ranasthalam manndal in Srikakulam district as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
According to a press release, the Foundation spent nearly ₹60 lakh for the construction of the new road following a request from the residents of Mentada and surrounding areas.
The locals had requested the company to construct a new road as villagers, employees and labourers were facing difficulties while riding their two-wheelers and and other vehicles on the damaged route. Driving on the road was difficult at night, the release said.
The local elders thanked Aurobindo Pharma vice-chairman and managing director K. Nityananda Reddy and director P. Sarath Chandra Reddy for releasing funds for the new road.
They said that with the construction of the new road children were able to travel to schools in a hassle free manner.
