Novak Djokovic donated €1 million during COVID-19: What his money helped buy

In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic put Serbia’s hospitals under mounting pressure, Novak Djokovic and his wife, Jelena, stepped in with a €1 million donation for medical equipment.

The money helped hospitals obtain ventilators, clinical monitors and CT scanners at a time when such resources were urgently needed.

It was one of the most visible examples of a philanthropic commitment the couple had been building for more than a decade through the Novak Djokovic Foundation, established in 2007 to improve opportunities for vulnerable communities.
