Water Board vigilance officials have seized 14 illegal motors during a special inspection drive in Bapunagar, under the S.R. Nagar ward (Division-16) of the Khairatabad Zone, on Friday.
The inspections were conducted between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. after receiving complaints over unauthorised use of motors to draw water directly from supply pipelines. Installing such motors on pipelines during scheduled water supply hours reduces water pressure and prevents other consumers from receiving their rightful share of water. And such practice also places additional strain on the distribution system, officials said.
The Board warned residents against unauthorised connections and the use of motors on public water supply pipelines. It said similar inspections would continue across different areas to prevent violations and ensure equitable water distribution.
