The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has been allotted three dedicated police stations in Coimbatore — two within the city and one for the district — to intensify action against the sale and use of narcotics.

Each station has been sanctioned 25 personnel, including an Inspector and four Sub-Inspectors, taking the total strength of the three stations to 75.

The unit for the north division of the Coimbatore city police will function from the Rathinapuri police station premises, while the south division unit will operate from the premises next to the Ramanathapuram police station.

The district ANTF station has been allotted space at the Perur All-Women Police Station premises in Podanur.

Inspector Rajkumar has been appointed to head the north division ANTF station.

Inspectors for the south division and the district unit are expected to be appointed shortly.
