Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu at the ‘Meet and Greet’ programme in London on Sunday morning.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said he would speak about all the issues related to the denial of permission by the Centre over his United States tour after returning to Hyderabad.

Mr. Reddy cut short his scheduled visit to U.S. and London and is returning from London early Monday.

In a post on social media platforms, Mr. Reddy expressed his gratitude to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party leaders for extending support to him over the Centre’s decision to deny political clearance for his proposed visit to the United States.

He thanked Mr. Kharge for his ‘strong support’ and said he was grateful to Congress leaders and people across the country who had backed him in the matter, which he described as being in the ‘national interest’.

Mr. Reddy said he had completed all his scheduled meetings and engagements in London and expressed gratitude for the support he had received over the past three days. He said he would fly back to Hyderabad from London instead of proceeding to Boston, as originally scheduled.

The Centre had denied political clearance for Mr. Reddy’s proposed U.S. visit, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stating that the proposed programme was not considered appropriate to the office held and the stated purpose of the visit. The UK leg of his tour was cleared.

Earlier, during a ‘Meet and Greet’ programme, Mr. Revanth Reddy called upon the Telugu diaspora in London to promote the goals and vision of the Telangana Rising initiative across the world and act as ambassadors for the State.

Mr. Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu met representatives of the Telugu diaspora in London on Sunday morning and discussed Telangana’s development and its future growth prospects.

The CM said the diaspora should become partners in Telangana’s development and help communicate the State government’s vision and priorities to the global community.
