The Gurajada Samskrutika Samakhya President M. Venkateswara Rao and General Secretary Kapuganti Prakash said that noted film actor Sowkar Janaki would continue to inspire with her great thoughts and deeds.
In a condolence meeting on Saturday (August 22, 2026), they offered tributes to Janaki, who died of ill health at the age of 94 years in Chennai a couple of days ago. Mr. Prakash said that Janaki had received Gurajada Sahithi Puraskaram on November 30, 2006 and continued to interact with the members of the association for the last 20 years.

“She was happy to see forts and heritage structures in Vizianagaram when she came here. She discussed about the great writers like Gurajada Apparao, Chaganti Somayajulu and others during the interaction. She recently conveyed her wishes when lyric writer Chandrabose was selected for the annual award,” said Mr. Prakash.
In another press note, Sri Guru Narayana Kalapeetham founder B.A. Narayana said that Sowcar Janaki inspired the people of South India with her selection of characters and powerful dialogues.
