Kurnool Collector reviews arrangements for ‘Sravana Masam’ festivities at Urukunda temple

District Collector A. Siri on Friday (August 28, 2026) reviewed the arrangements for the annual Sravana Masam festivities at Urukunda Eeranna Temple near Mantrayalam, directing officials to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience.

Addressing the officials of the Endowments Department and other coordinating wings, the Collector called for uninterrupted drinking water supply, power, sanitation, and road facilities.

She directed the temple Executive Officer to install floodlights in the parking areas and temple surroundings and undertake round-the-clock medical services through dedicated teams. Police were directed to regulate traffic efficiently as large crowds are expected from different directions.

Ms. Siri further instructed officials to identify suitable government land for a permanent parking facility, as existing parking spaces are largely on private land. She asked the police officials to strengthen CCTV surveillance, public announcements, toilets, sanitation and fire safety arrangements.

The R&B officials were directed to repair and fill potholes on the Kuppagallu-Urukunda single-lane road on a war footing. “Comprehensive proposals should also be prepared to widen the Kuppagallu-Urukunda and Kosigi-Urukunda roads into double-lane roads,” she said.
