The Koodankulam police have arrested a couple for allegedly murdering a history-sheeter on Thursday night.
Police said rowdy ‘Thoothukudi Selvam’, 41, who was facing 27 cases, including six murder cases, was found murdered in a farm at Sanganeri near Koodankulam on Friday morning.
During investigation, the Koodankulam police found that Selvam’s associate Chandru of Pottalkulam in Kanniyakumari district and his wife Gowri had come to meet the rowdy in the farm to discuss about financial transaction between them.
Against this backdrop, Selvam was found murdered and the couple, after reportedly meeting the rowdy in the farm, went underground. Hence, the police, suspecting that couple might have murdered Selvam, secured them on Saturday.
