Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 122.10 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 1,148 cusecs and a discharge of 800 cusecs. The level in Vaigai dam was 36.78 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 372 cusecs and a discharge of 86 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 3,698.19 mcft.

Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Wednesday was (in mm): Mullaperiyar dam 16.8, Thekkadi 14.2, Kodaikanal 10.2, Shanmuganadhi dam 4.6, Gudalur 3.4, Uthamapalayam 1.8 and Sothupparai dam 0.2.
