Sowmya Reddy, former Congress MLA and daughter of Forest and Environment Minister Ramalinga Reddy, has resigned as president of the Karnataka Pradesh Mahila Congress.
Although she submitted her resignation on August 20, nearly two months ago, the letter came to light on Saturday (October 17). In the letter, Ms. Reddy expressed her displeasure over the absence of a woman legislator in the Cabinet headed by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
In her letter to All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba, Ms. Reddy said she had accepted the post for a two-year term and had used the opportunity to travel across the State and meet party leaders to strengthen the Congress organisation.
