A Commercial Tax Officer (CTO) was killed by his first wife after a quarrel over his retirement funds and assets in Husnabad town of Siddipet district.
The deceased, 60-year-old Venkatesham, worked as a Commercial Tax Officer in Asifabad and was due to retire from service this month. His wife, Rajamani works as an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM).
According to police, the couple quarrelled over Venkatesham’s retirement benefits and assets at their residence in Hanuman Nagar, Husnabad. As the argument escalated, Rajamani attacked him with a stone, leaving him seriously injured.
Venkatesham was shifted to hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police said Venkatesham had two wives and Rajamani was his first wife. Following the incident, police registered a case against Rajamani and took her into custody. Further investigation is under way.
