A 21-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover following an argument over marriage, at his house in Shaheen Nagar in the early hours of Monday (August 17, 2026).
The deceased was identified as Rehena, a waiter who was residing in Waramgadda, Mailardevpally, and was originally from Patna, Bihar.
She had been in a relationship with 21-year-old Shaik Ahemad, who works at a water filter unit and lives in Bismillah Colony, Shaheen Nagar, for about a year.
According to the preliminary information, Rehena had been insisting that Ahemad marry her. An argument broke out between the two at his house around 4 a.m. on Monday, following which he allegedly stabbed her with a knife. She died at the house, police said.
After the killing, Ahemad and his mother Ayesha allegedly placed Rehena’s body in a gunny bag. Police were informed about the incident through a dial 100 call about their commotion and found the body at around 5:30 a.m. A case was registered at Balapur police station and further investigation is under way.
