Father dies after alleged assault by son during argument over alcohol addiction in Kerala’s Kozhikode

A 64-year-old man died after being allegedly assaulted by his son during an argument over the latter‘s alcohol addiction at Velliparamba in Kozhikode, Kerala, on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Sasidharan. His 29-year-old son, Abhiram, has been taken into custody by the Kozhikode Medical College police in connection with the incident.
According to the police, an argument broke out between the two early on Monday. Abhiram attacked his father with a wooden object, causing serious injuries, the police said.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. They said the accused was suspected of committing the offence under the influence of synthetic drug.
