APCRDA, Danish team discuss future-ready power grid for Amaravati

Visiting Denmark team with the APCRDA officials in Amaravati on Tuesday

A Danish delegation visited Amaravati on Tuesday as part of the implementation of the India-Denmark Energy Partnership (INDEP) and held discussions with officials of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on strengthening the capital city’s power infrastructure.

The delegation visited the APCRDA headquarters at Rayapudi, where discussions focused on planning and designing a 33-kV power grid and enhancing its capacity to meet Amaravati’s future electricity demand. The talks also covered the integration of renewable energy sources, Distributed Energy Resources (DRE), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and infrastructure for electric vehicle charging.

The two sides discussed the possibility of adapting best practices from Denmark’s power sector to Amaravati’s requirements. They also explored sharing technical expertise and experience in developing and managing electricity systems and pursuing further technical cooperation.

Later, APCRDA Additional Commissioner T. Rahul Kumar Reddy explained the development of Amaravati through a visual simulation using the Digital Twin at the Amaravati Integrated Command Control Centre (AICCC).

The presentation covered ongoing and proposed projects and infrastructure development in Amaravati, including the power sector.

APCRDA officials and Danish representatives participated in the discussions. The Danish delegation included Andreas Sejr Andersen of the Danish Energy Agency, Jasmin Mehmedalic and Gandom Faramarzi of Green Power Denmark, and Vidya Sagar Paludugu, Deputy Director of the Central Electricity Authority.
