Eight persons were injured after a crane toppled onto houses in Mumbai’s Kurla East area on Friday (August 21, 2026) morning.
The incident occurred in the wee hours of the day at Buntara Bhavan, Mhada Building, behind Galaxy Apartment, Indira Nagar, Kurla (East).
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s L-ward staff present at the site, the housing body MHADA was preparing to launch an “eviction and demolition operation” there.
A crane was being mounted for the operation when it toppled onto nearby houses, leaving eight persons injured, the official said.
According to the BMC’s Sion Hospital, six injured persons have been admitted and all are in stable condition. At Kurla Bhabha Hospital, two injured persons have been admitted and their condition is also stable.
