Minister for Transport A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban and Minister for Health K.G. Arunraj participated in various programmes respectively in Salem and Namakkal districts on Saturday (August 22).
On Saturday, at functions in Edappadi, Nangavalli and Omalur bus stands in Salem district, Mr. Parthiban flagged off a new bus as well as route extensions.
At a function in Edappadi, he flagged off a town bus running from the Edappadi bus stand to Jalakandapuram, now extended to the government girls’ higher secondary school. Likewise, the Tharamangalam to Jalakandapuram town bus via Adaiyur has now been extended to Aduvappatti. The Ettikuttaimedu to New Bus Stand town bus has now been extended to Old Bus Stand via Tharamangalam and Junction.
The Minister also flagged off an additional bus service from Nangavalli to Coimbatore. Likewise, the Omalur to Deevattipatti town bus service has been extended to Nainakadu via Kamalapuram. At a function in Nangavalli, he travelled on a town bus with District Collector K. Elambahavath.
Later, he also visited a private college in Nangavalli, where a private job fair was held. He handed over job orders to the selected candidates.
During these functions, TNSTC Managing Director A. Krishnamoorthy, TNSTC (Salem Division) General Manager V. Sivakumar and officials from departments concerned participated.
Similarly, in Namakkal district, Minister for Health Arunraj inspected the Tiruchengode Government Hospital on Saturday. He inspected the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and other wards and interacted with patients and their relatives about the services provided to them.
The Minister also inaugurated the service of a double-door autoclave machine at the hospital. Later, the Minister inspected the Sithalandur primary health centre and took a picture with the conservancy workers.
During the inspection, Namakkal District Collector L. Madhubalan and officials from government departments participated.
