Liverpool news: Huge Minteh transfer hint dropped with new man 'waiting' to move

Liverpool are focusing their attention on a Premier League clash with Ipswich Town on Friday evening but the fallout from the summer transfer window still lingers. Excitement at the club securing Bradley Barcola from PSG for a staggering £123million was somewhat offset by glaring issues in the squad being overlooked.

Andoni Iraola's problems in midfield have been left hanging as the Anfield club's summer was also punctuated with near misses. Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr was said to be of interest yet no move materialised . Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh was the subject of two failed bids.

However, today's news sees a future move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara gain traction. Liverpool have also possibly been given hope that a move for Minteh could be reignited.

Brighton may have dropped a major hint to Liverpool that they have a chance of signing Minteh in the winter, or even next summer, after they clinched the signature of Femi Azeez from Millwall.

Liverpool had two bids, the highest at £60m, rejected for Gambian star Minteh as they looked to find a successor to Mo Salah on the right flank.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side pulled off a late move for Azeez, via deal sheet, in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The 25-year-old is a right-sided winger who can also provide cover across the front.

The Seagulls also signed Nigerian 19-year-old Zadok Johanna from Swedish side AIK earlier this summer, another right winger. The double capture seems to suggest that Brighton are moving to secure their options on the right side of the pitch, should Minteh leave in the foreseeable future.

With Liverpool's move for Sarr failing to get off the ground, and Brighton's apparent preparation for Minteh's possible exit, it's entirely reasonable that a deal to take the Seagulls winger to Anfield could be resurrected in January or even in the summer of 2027.

Monaco's Lamine Camara has reportedly been told he will secure a major transfer 'very soon' amid links to Liverpool. The Anfield outfit also reportedly told the player to 'wait' for them as Camara's £47.1million move to Chelsea collapsed on deadline day.

Xabi Alonso's side looked to secure a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, who departed for Manchester City . But mere hours after the transfer fell through, talkSPORT reported that Liverpool had informed Les Monegasques of their interest in a move for the midfielder next summer.

They are believed to have told the star that there's a chance they could move for him in 2027. The outlet also claimed that the Senegal international is being identified as a replacement for Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

Monaco sporting director Thiago Scuro has suggested they could be open to selling their star next year. He said: "I’ve been saying that our strategy this summer is very clear. We need to generate money, as we’ve been saying, pushed by regulations and by everything that we’ve been discussing over the last few years in terms of financial constraints in our league.

"We had a clear plan to talk about the two topics.
