My Vitriol are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album ‘Finelines’ with a headline show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

It marks 25 years since the release of their cult debut album ‘Finelines’, which was awarded three stars from NME at the time , and hailed by our readers as an “album perfect from start to finish “.

They’ll take to the stage on Thursday December 10, with InMe and Yourcodenameis:milo joining as support acts.

View this post on Instagram ‘Finelines’ has been credited as the first Nugaze album, with the term initially coined jokingly by frontman Som Wardner.

A year after the album’s release, My Vitriol went on hiatus in 2002, before briefly reuniting in 2005 for a show at the O2 Academy Islington.

A recording of the gig was self-released as the 2006 live album ‘Cast In Amber’.

Since then, they’ve shared EPs ‘A Pyrrhic Victory’ and ‘War of the Worlds’ in 2007.

In 2017 they returned again for a UK tour .

The support slot from Yourcodenameis:milo also signals a potential reunion for them.

The Sunderland band went on hiatus in 2007 and announced a return for some charity concerts in 2020.

Due to the pandemic, the gigs were postponed until April 2023.
