‘Off Campus’ Star Stephen Kalyn Joins ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’

Off Campus star Stephen Kalyn has officially joined the upcoming Housemaid sequel The Housemaid’s Secret.

Kalyn is slated to play the role of Brock in the Paul Feig-directed film. He joins Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst and Paul Anthony Kelly. Brittany Snow, who’s playing Marybeth, has also joined, while Michele Morrone, who’s playing Enzo, is set to reprise his role from the The Housemaid .

“In The Housemaid’s Secret , Millie returns, taking a job keeping house for a woman she’s never allowed to see, only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own,” according to the film’s synopsis. Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the first book, returns to write The Housemaid’s Secret, which is based on the best seller by Freida McFadden. Producers on the project include Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman; Laura Fischer and Feig, for Pretty Dangerous Pictures; and Sweeney, through her Honey Trap banner. Carly Elter, who oversaw the first film for Hidden Pictures, returns as executive producer, alongside Alex Young. Honey Trap’s Kaylee McGregor will co-produce.

Kalyn had his breakout role this summer in the hit Prime Video series Off Campus . The 28-year-old Canadian actor plays Dean Di Laurentis in the series. Off Campus , based on Elle Kennedy’s book series of the same name, has become a hit for Prime Video. The series reached 36 million viewers worldwide over its first 12 days of release, according to figures shared by the Amazon-owned streamer. It comes in as Prime Video’s third largest series debut over that amount of time, behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout .

The show’s next installment will adapt the plot of Kennedy’s third novel in the Off Campus series, The Score . It centers on lovable party boy turned certified lover boy Dean Di Laurentis (Kalyn) and aspiring actress and the ultimate best friend Allie Hayes (Mika Abdalla) . Both Kalyn and Abdalla’s characters were fan favorites during the season one run.
