Quality Control CEO Pierre ‘P’ Thomas Hospitalized Following Medical Emergency
Quality Control Music CEO Pierre “P” Thomas has been hospitalized following a medical emergency, the company revealed on Friday (Aug.
21), adding that he is still “alive” and receiving medical care.
“We want to clarify that Pierre ‘P’ Thomas is alive and currently hospitalized receiving medical care,” the company posted to social media on Friday.
“We ask that everyone keep P and his family in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully give them the privacy and space they need during this time.” The statement continued: “We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, support, prayers, and loving energy right now.” The 45-year-old executive founded Quality Control Music alongside Kevin “Coach K” Lee in 2013 and helped guide the likes of Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty and City Girls to stardom.
In 2022, Quality Control made a splash when signing Lee’s nephew and New Orleans Saints star Alvin Kamara to the label’s sports division, which launched in 2018.
Cardi B also previously had a “consulting arrangement” with the company.
Thomas and Lee were honored with Billboard ‘s Executive of the Year Award in 2018 for building Quality Control into a hip-hop juggernaut.
Thomas also won Billboard ‘s first-ever peer-voted R &B/Hip-Hop Power Players’ Choice Award in 2023.
In 2023, South Korean music company HYBE acquired Thomas and Lee’s Atlanta-based powerhouse label (QC Media Holdings) for $300 million ($250 million in cash and $50 million in stock).
Billboard has reached out to QC’s reps for further comment but had not heard back by press time.
