Trump Posts Sick Footage of Tiger Mauling Vulnerable Man
Kent Nishimura/AFP via Getty Images President Donald Trump posted a horrific video of a man with mental illness being mauled by a tiger, offering no sympathy to the victim or his family.
Trump captioned the video, “Don’t ever mess with nature!” It was signed “President DJT,” indicating that the president himself posted it rather than relying on his staffers, like his assistant Natalie Harp, who was on Trump’s flight to a rally in Alaska when he posted the video.
In the 40-second clip Trump shared, the tiger was seen repeatedly pouncing on the victim as he tried to fend it off.
Trump’s post provided no other comment about the victim who died.
The man was identified as William Chapman, who had entered the tiger’s enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, U.K., on Saturday.
According to a local report, he had “suffered from significant mental illness.” In a statement, his family described him as a “bright, warm and engaging young man.” It was one of several bizarre social media posts Trump put up in a blitz on Truth Social.
Just one minute after the president shared the tiger video, he also posted a 24-second video with multiple clips of lions attacking people, set to music.
The president did not include a comment with the post.
Apart from the two violent videos, Trump also fired off a series of Truth Social posts that included ones attacking Democrats and praising Republicans as Election Day nears.
The Daily Beast has reached out to the White House for comment on the president’s post.
