Ramaphosa to launch revised White Paper on Local Government
President Cyril Ramaphosa will launch the revised White Paper on Local Government in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.
The Cabinet-approved policy seeks to address municipal governance failures, financial mismanagement and poor service delivery.
It follows the President’s commitment in this year’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) to reform local government.
The Presidency says an implementation plan and transition management body will be established to support the rollout of the reforms.
The launch is expected to begin at 2 o’clock this Thursday.
