WC Education MEC wishes matric learners well for final exams

Tuesday marks the start of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations for candidates who will sit for the computer application technology practical.

The Western Cape Department of Education says over 71 000 full-time learners and more than 13 000 part-time learners will be sitting for the exams in the province this year.

The exams conclude on the 25th of November.

Western Cape MEC of Education, Jaco Londt, says he remains hopeful that this year’s matric pass rate will improve.

“To the matriculants: It is now the final stretch.

For the next couple of weeks, please remain focused.

Do not be tempted to take a shortcut; it is simply not worth it.

You have all signed a pledge to adhere to the exam rules, so please abide by these.” “Hard work, discipline, and constructive breaks in between studying are needed right now.

Celebrations will come later.

Make yourselves, your families and your communities proud,” adds Londt.
