D-Day for Ad Hoc committee to submit national security probe report

The scheduled deadline for Parliament’s Ad hoc Committee to submit its final report to the National Assembly is this Friday.

However, the committee has confirmed that it has written to the Speaker, Thoko Didiza, to request another extension .

If the request is acceded to, it will be the sixth time it will be granted.

The committee has been investigating KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s allegations on issues of national security.

The committee held a meeting on Thursday to continue to deliberate on its draft report.

Chairperson Soviet Lekganyane says, “We will await for that approval of the extension and check the availability of members next week if members are available.

We will continue and if it’s not possible, the date of the next meeting will accordingly be communicated.” VIDEO | Ad Hoc Committee requests another extension:
