The Creamery will remain open after closure plans

The Creamery will remain open after closure plans

We have a scoop for Creamery fans. It seems that not only will the stores remain open, but they are "moving forward with fresh energy."

This announcement comes weeks after reports emerged that it would close its doors after 15 years.

A statement released by Food Lover's Market on Tuesday revealed that The Creamery stores are open and the response to news of its planned closure had been overwhelming, with loyal customers sending messages, sharing memories and appealing for the business to continue.

"We have some very good news. The Creamery is moving forward with fresh energy, a renewed focus, and a big appetite for what comes next. We’re not quite ready to reveal all the details just yet, but we cannot wait to share more very soon," said the group.

The Creamery is owned by Food Lover’s Market through its subsidiary Seattle Coffee Company.

The development comes after The Creamery announced in July that it would close its remaining Cape Town stores after 15 years.

At the time, Food Lover’s Market said its broader business priorities had evolved and that The Creamery was no longer part of its long-term strategic focus. However, the company also revealed that it had received interest from several parties interested in the future of the brand.
