Mbalula awaits report from Majodina following viral video

The African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula says he is awaiting a report from Water and Sanitation minister, Pemmy Majodina .

This comes after a video circulating on social media showing Majodina allegedly swearing at a member of the public.

Water and Sanitation Minister, Pemmy Majodina, has not reacted to an incident at a recent government event in the Kouga Municipality in the Eastern Cape, where she allegedly swore at a member of the public. https://t.co/1KnTlL8D2F pic.twitter.com/ExToMeLWUp — SABC News (@SABCNews) September 12, 2026 Speaking to media on the sidelines of the ANC’s Mayihlome Volunteers Assembly in Galeshewe , Kimberley, Mbalula says the minister’s report is needed before any decisions can be made.

“Yes, I’ve asked for a report for that.

So, we are looking into that in terms of ascertaining what happened.

So, I’ve asked for a report from Pemmy and then I’m sure by the time I get back to Joburg this afternoon, I would have received the report.

I’ve seen what is in circulation and what it is alleged.

But we need to get the report from the minister herself in terms of the events on that particular day,” adds Mbalula.
