Witness accuses SAPS senior officials of targeting the top cop

An associate of the senior police officer arrested on allegations of rape and sexual grooming of a minor alleges that the police general is being targeted by senior SAPS officials .

Bishop Lazarus Maumela claims the officer was arrested at a restaurant and not a brothel as has been reported.

Maumela says the SAPS leadership is targeting individuals who speak out against wrongdoing within the police service.

He also cites National Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams and businessman Stuart James Sharnick as among those he believes have been targeted.

“We feel that the person in question is being targeted by the regime operating in an apartheid manner.

You would have noticed that everybody who has spoken against what is happening has to be targeted.

You speak of Stuart, who got arrested at Madlanga, and you talk of Adams, who was arrested at Madlanga.
