Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane has expressed shock and sadness at the brutal murder of two-time former boxing world champion Zolani Tete .
Tete was gunned down in front of his house in Mdantsane.
Mabuyane says it is a senseless killing of one of the province’s finest sporting heroes.
The Premier’s spokesperson, Sonwabo Mbananga, says Tete was a champion who rose from the grassroots.
“It is heartbreaking that a life that brought so much pride to our province has been ended through such a brutal act of violence.
We call on law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned to establish what happened and bring those responsible to book.
