Police say the suspect was found in possession of an item belonging to murdered runner Elizabeth ‘Tsontso’ Moselakgomo .

The suspect will face a charge of being in possession of stolen property.

Police say at this stage, no murder charge has been brought against the suspect and investigations continue.

Moselakgomo was reported missing after leaving her Rhodesfield home in Kempton Park for a run last month.

Her badly bruised body was found in Rhodesfield.

During his national address last month, President Cyril Ramaphosa said the CSIR would help police investigate the Ekurhuleni murders.

“The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is assisting with the digital forensic investigation.

There’s been understandably widespread fear that the discovery of these women in close proximity could indicate the work of a single perpetrator.

At present police have not found evidence establishing that these killings were committed by a single perpetrator.

All possibilities remain under investigation,” added Ramaphosa. #sapsHQ [SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH ITEM BELONGING TO RUNNER ELIZABETH TSONTSO MOSELAKGOMO] The #SAPS confirms that a suspect who was found in possession of an item belonging to runner Elizabeth Tsontso Moselakgomo has been arrested.
