AKA, Tibz murder trial adjourned over excessive courtroom heat
The trial of the accused in the murders of rapper Kiernan “ AKA” Forbes and businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane has been adjourned until Monday, following concerns over excessive heat in the courtroom.
The court had no working air conditioning, prompting the state, the defence and the accused to raise concerns over unbearable conditions.
Tensions rose when Judge Nomfundo Sipunzi accused the state and defence of conspiring not to proceed with the case.
The defence disputed the accusation, while State Prosecutor Lawrence Gcaba also exchanged heated words with the judge.
“My lady, the conditions in the court are unbearable that the matter can sit,” said Gcaba.
