Warrant of arrest issued for Jub Jub
A warrant of arrest has been issued for media personality Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye after he failed to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Johannesburg’s East Rand on Monday morning, on kidnapping and intimidation charges.
In June, Maarohanye was released on bail of R5 000 following an urgent application.
The warrant is expected to remain in place and will only be activated if he fails to appear during his next court appearance on September 7.
Maarohanye was arrested following an alleged altercation with an e-hailing driver.
He is accused of pointing an object resembling a firearm and discharging it in a public space.
Maarohanye denies the allegations, stating that there is a campaign to destroy his reputation.
