Court hears recording implicating Sibiya in unlawful activities
The Randburg Magistrates Court has heard serious allegations against former Deputy National Police Commissioner for Crime Detection, Shadrack Sibiya, implicating him in unlawful activities and alleged close ties with the criminal underworld.
The allegations were made during a 25-minute audio clip played during Sibiya’s bail application .
He was arrested last month at a Strip Club in Sandton and faces charges, including the alleged sexual grooming of a 16-year-old girl, rape, human trafficking and the contravention of the Firearms Control Act.
The audio is a conversation between the complainant, ‘Mr M’, who is also the father of the 16-year-old girl and businessman Serge Cabonge.
“There’s a guy; he’s a forensic for the Mandlanga Commission, maybe he’s crook, let me profile the number, I profile the number, and I find out that is true.
When I asked the mother if that is true, she asked what they wanted, and they said it was a child who was kidnapped.
The kidnappers took R2.5 million from Mohammed, and he called me to say that if I come and save him, he will give me R1000,000.
I called my Hawks guys to tell them there’s a guy that’s been kidnapped.” Live stream:
