Man charged with domestic violence murder after allegedly stabbing 90-year-old woman

A 47-year-old man has been charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed an elderly woman to death in a home in Bondi.

Emergency services were called to a home on Chalmers Ave in Bondi Beach at about 5.15pm after reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found a 90-year-old woman suffering from “significant injuries to her torso”.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman, but she died at the scene.

Police arrested a 47-year-old man at the scene who was “known to the woman,” before taking him to Surry Hills Police Station.

The man has been charged with a single count of domestic violence related murder.
