”Sadly, our store was broken into last night. Because of this, we are temporarily closed until further notice,” the shop posted online after the theft.
“Our team is currently working hard on cleaning up, repairing, and getting everything organised so we can reopen our doors safely. We are aiming to be back open ASAP.”
CCTV vision caught a group of three masked people grabbing highly valuable and collectable items including Pokemon cards, game consoles and gel blasters.
“Some of the cards are highly valuable and collectable...We’re looking at $20,000 to $30,000,” the Pro Hobbies staff member told 7NEWS.
“We’ve been broken in a couple of times, but I don’t think I’ve seen quite the amount of damage that took place this time.”
The spokesperson said the stolen trading cards are likely headed to be sold online.
“Facebook Marketplace is certainly one of the higher possibilities,” they said.
Queensland Police allege the same group targeted two Gold Coast stores only hours earlier, Mana Market in Southport and Crystal Collectables in Hope Island.
Only last week, two other game and collectibles stores in Brisbane were also broken into, Mint Collectibles in Kedron and Dorky Desires in Springwood.
“Sadly the worst has happened, lots stolen and our hearts are absolutely broken,” Dorky Desires posted online.
The store posted alongside pictures of the trashed shop, including smashed windows and empty shelves.
