Wife Georgia roasts Toby Greene’s tribunal record live on The Front Bar: ‘Copped a few sprays from me at home’

Toby Greene has copped it from wife Georgia live on The Front Bar after this year crossing the unwanted milestone of $50,000 in fines across his AFL career.

The player with the most charges in VFL/AFL history, the GWS Giants captain has been suspended for 16 games from 32 charges.

His most recent fine of $1875 for striking brought him to a whopping total of $50,725 over his 282 games — and the financial whack hasn’t gone unnoticed at home.

Greene appeared on Channel 7’s The Front Bar on Wednesday night with wife Georgia and her mum Julie both in the audience.

“How much joy has he given you? I mean, there’s been moments along the way — gets a little bit of white line fever, the lad,” Andy Maher asked.

“But we love watching him play his footy. How much joy have you two got out of sitting back and watching him do his thing?”

“Definitely, he’s brought a lot of joy to us, all our friends and family, even that white line fever,” she began.

“He’s copped a few Adam Kingsley-like sprays from me at home, actually, for the amount of money we lose every week. Those sprays are yet to work so, I don’t know, hopefully they cut back soon.”

Mick Molloy and Sam Pang noted “every time you’ve gone up you’ve been found guilty” and Greene could hardly explain himself.

Georgia wasn’t alone in jabbing Greene throughout the show, with Mick Molloy repeatedly prodding the 32-year-old on his AFL future.

Greene is out of contract with the Giants and last week revealed he would meet with Geelong and new Essendon coach Mark McVeigh.

“First up, congratulations on being back in Melbourne. Are you playing against Carlton this week?” Molloy joked, referencing the Cats’ elimination final on Friday night.

Greene replied: “I haven’t been named yet. I’ll be watching it, I’m commentating actually, so it should be good.”

Molloy: “Are you going to live in Geelong or Corio? Have you had a look, what’s your favourite?”
