State planners approve tavern, fast-food and businesses to be built alongside Napoli Park in Mindarie

A tavern will be built alongside a Mindarie park close to the beach, but residents hold concerns about parking and traffic problems.

Company Relink Management WA gained Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel approval for the $9.3 million development on Amalfi Avenue, which comprises the potential tavern, five neighbouring commercial tenancies and six residential units spanning three storeys.

The five tenancies are proposed to be used for fast-food outlets or private recreation, which allows uses such as exercise, leisure and recreation businesses.

The Catalina Estate site fronting Portofino Promenade adjoins Napoli Park and is about 700m from South Mindarie Beach.

State planners approved the developer’s previous $4.5 million application in May, which was for two solely commercial single-storey buildings across 1009sqm and 27 parking bays.
