Seven suspects accused of AKA, Tibz murder back in court
The trial of seven men accused of the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane will resume in the Durban High Court on Monday.
The trial started last week with the accused pleading not guilty to all charges leveled against them.
The state has called three witnesses so far including a police officer who arrested accused number three, Siyanda Myeza for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Umlazi in 2022.
The firearm is alleged to be one of two weapons used in the killings.
State Prosecutor Elvis Gweka has asked the court to allow two witnesses to testify via CCTV, saying they are overwhelmed by the prospect of giving evidence in open court.
Forbes and Motsoane were shot and killed outside a Durban restaurant in February 2023.
