IFP’s approach to coalition governments is “sober”: Mabaso

Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Johannesburg Mayoral candidate Mlungisi Mabaso has described the party’s approach to coalition governments as “sober”.

Mabaso, who spoke to SABC News at the Denver Hostel in Johannesburg, says the IFP is open to working with other political parties after next month’s Local Government Elections.

He was speaking before a meeting with hostel dwellers and residents.

Mabaso says the IFP is the only party that has worked with all political parties, adding that electoral outcomes are ultimately dictated by voters.

He says, “We will be compelled to enter into coalition engagements as well, the same way it has happened before.

We’ve worked with EFF, we’ve worked with ANC, we’ve worked with PA, we’ve worked with all political parties, except for the new political parties that we have not had an opportunity to engage in coalition and talk with them.” VIDEO| IFP ready to revive City of Johannesburg:
