Modimolle-Mookgophong scraps residents’ incorrect municipal accounts

The Modimolle-Mookgophong Municipality in Limpopo says that it has written off the R15 million debt that residents and businesses had erroneously owed.

It says that they were incorrectly billed in the 2024-2025 financial year.

Municipal Spokesperson Michael Makungo says, “We can confirm that adjustments made to their municipal accounts relating to the 2024/2025 financial year will be written off. The council has approved the write-off of adjustments relating to refuse removal and sewage services. We would like to appreciate the patience and understanding of residents, businesses and other stakeholders.”
