Court to hear EFF, ALPA’s court bid on Phala Phala evidence leader
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the African Legal Professionals Association (ALPA) will today be in the Western Cape High Court- challenging the Impeachment Committee’s decision to rescind Advocate Thandazani Madonsela as its evidence leader.
The two- applicants want the court to set aside the Committee’s decision and have Madonsela reinstated .
They argue the move to remove him was irrational and undermines the credibility and fairness of the impeachment process.
EFF Deputy President, Godrich Gardee says, “The subject of investigation, cannot have preferences who must be the evidence leader.
We will be setting up a very dangerous precedent for the Parliament- and we must actually separate the executive from the legislature.
The executive, cannot dictate to the legislature, who should be the evidence leader.” Below is the full interview with EFF Deputy President, Godrich Gardee
