ActionSA calls for stronger policing in Emalahleni to tackle crime

ActionSA Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate Xolani Khumalo is calling for a stronger police presence in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga to tackle crime and drug abuse.

Khumalo joined party members on an anti-drug awareness walk in the townships of Emalahleni earlier today.

This as the party continues to step up its campaign ahead of the local government elections next month.

ActionSA is contesting local government elections in Mpumalanga for the first time.

Residents have raised concerns about rising crime and young people dropping out of school because of drug abuse.

Khumalo says urgent intervention is needed to address the drug problem in the area.

“I have worked here before.

I have arrested a lot of people, especially here in Kwaguqa.

But what I am realising is that the government must improve in terms of the visibility of police officers.

Number two, we need to reclaim and expropriate our buildings.

Those hijacked buildings they are resulting on high crime number one, number two, they are contributing to in the issues of prostitution.

So, we need to get law enforcement to start doing their job.” GATVOL? LET’S FIX IT! South Africans are tired of broken promises, failing municipalities, poor service delivery, and leaders who evade accountability.

ActionSA is engaging with residents in eMalahleni on our 2026 Local Government Election Manifesto and our plan to build municipalities that work for the people.

Clean governance.
